Claimant says:
"I'm a Gulf War Veteran/retired in the Watkinsville area, during my term of service I substained a lower back injury. I went to my family doctor to have him look and see why I was starting to have more pain in this area... this was the first time I went to the doctor in approx. four years. Upon arrival the doctors asst was very professional and nice, she took my blood pressure/ Temp/weight and all that good stuff and then stuck me in a treatment room to be seen by the doctor.. The doctor came in and sat in the chair beside me and ask me what I wanted him to do (who the doctor here). He never touched me or examinded me in no way. Being disappointed in the way I was treated, I requested my medical records and went to VA clinic. when I received the copy of my records, it showed where the doctor had given me a full blown physical Exam (which was claimed against my insurance). But the worst part was that he wrote in my records, that I gave to the VA clinic, that I was a PILL SEEKER. I was floored, hadn't been to doctor in 4 yrs and now I'm pill seeking. I was ready to go back to this doctor and seek some of his face. While I was doing my duty in the Gulf War, this guy was sitting on he but in some classroom getting his Phd. This shows me the respect our soldiers receive from people that take our freedom as a grain of salt... I couldn't believe this.....If i were a pill seeker, should he have referred me to help or just labeled me. These types of doctors really make the bad impression on the medical profession. I will be seeking a new family doctor, and hope that this Doctor seeks a new outlook on our troops."
