Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Dr. Awolesi was a friend and colleague. Dr. Awolesi was employed at the VA. He was terminated and filed a discrimination lawsuit. He asked if I would loan him money to save his home, since he was not employed. I made several personal loans totaling $70,000.00. Dr. Awolesi agreed to repay the loans when he found employment. Dr. Awolesi requested another loan of $10,000.00. I referred him this time to my attorney who requested Mark sign a mortgage. Dr. Awolesi became very angry with my attorney. Dr. Awolesi called me saying he really needed the money but would not sign a mortgage. He did not receive this loan stating "you loan me money previously without a mortgage. I reminded him of the terms of the previous loans. He is now employed in Wisconsin as a cardiac surgeon.

I texted Dr. Awolesi he should repay the loans. He texted "what loans." I was shocked. In one text he stated "there are no terms for a loan." Dr. Awolesi's intent from the beginnings was to steal the money and not repay it. It is the reason he refused to sign a mortgage with my attorney for his last request for a loan. Mark Awolesi, M.D., is a cardiac surgeon, working in Wisconsin now."

  • To the claimant:  Hi, what is the latest with your case?  Any more communication with the doctor?  You say you have an attorney; is he or she advising how to proceed?  Thanks.
