Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I bought two seat belts from a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria which was to fit a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. I was told I could return the items if they did not fit, which they did not. Upo my return, I was told to wait until they showed me other Mercurys, but I knew they only had one which I had previously refused. Rather than refund my money or buy back the items for 50%, I was given an instore credit which I will never use.
The business could not supply what I needed."

  • Aug 07, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • In disgust, I threw out the credit slip.

  • M&K offers a settlement if I present the credit slip which I threw away in disgust. I just want others to beware of this business.

  • Well when a customer gets a credit issued to him and tries to sell it in front on you to another customer in the office thats not very professional and when you walk into the door big signs says no cash refunds. Thats why you need to keep your paperwork and i am here to resolve the issue but if you threw it away thats your side of the story cause my other customer claims you gave it to him.

  • Aug 08, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • If they had been the least civil to me upon my return visit, this would not be happening. In the office, I offered the credit to a fellow, but the owner said they would not honor it from him- only from me. I left. The fellow followed me into the parking lot. retrieved the wadded credit slip, said he would try to use it anyway.

  • Aug 08, 2012, M and K Used Auto Parts (responding party) added:
  • Exactly my point you basically gave your money away to someone else if you didn't disrespect my business in front of my own eyes but regardless of the matter we are good people and there is certain ways to handle situations if things dont go your way you dont just flip out and assume things you try to talk it out in a civilized manner to come to a compromise between both parties.

  • Aug 08, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • Civilized manner? You bullied me to where I could not remain in the office!
I know I will not any refund. I just want people to be aware of your business practices.

  • Aug 08, 2012, M and K Used Auto Parts (responding party) added:
  • Well thats your personal opinion everyone can carry there own judgement either way you should of kept that piece of paper that had the credit and we could of worked it out but you chose to give it away just like that I cant control your actions but take care have a good one.

  • Aug 08, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • A customer should not have to bring a lawyer to buy a used car part.
You did not have a car of my vintage with a decent part but recommended I try the 2001 Crown Vic. When I asked if I could return the part if it did not fit, you said "okay". I assumed that meant I could get back my money.
On that basis I took the part. Upon my return you would not honor your word and proceeded to berate me when I tried to make you honor your word.

  • Aug 08, 2012, M and K Used Auto Parts (responding party) added:
  • Ok we can go back and forth with this all day if you can provide me a credit slip that I issued I'll refund your money cause someone out there has that money thats credit on our invoice so provide that and you will get your money back.

  • Aug 08, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • You are right. This could go on all day. And you know I cannot reproduce the credit slip.
    So, gooby.

  • Aug 08, 2012, M and K Used Auto Parts (responding party) added:
  • Well if you did id be more than happy to help you like I said we are not bad people but we just would like respect in our place of business and I saw that as being disrespect especially when im listening to what you were saying but good luck.
