Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Upon purchasing a mattress from Levin's furniture we have had much grief over the past two and one half weeks.
To begin with the sales person didn't tell us that the mattress we were purchasing had a gassing off due to its being polyurethane, The store agreed to take the polyurethane mattress back, however and we agreed to take another type of mattress to avoid the odor. They delivered the wrong size mattress after we waited a week for it. On two separate occasions he was approached and he only stated he would have to contact his manager.
The correct size mattress was eventually delivered and we spoke with the store manager who stated he would give us a price reduction for consideration of sending the wrong mattress. When we approached the salesperson on 2-17-16, for the revised cost of purchase he gave us another price and declined giving us information in regards to the store mangager's decision, telling us it had to be approved by the store manager, which it already had been. The salesperson continues telling us about some estimated cost We don't understand what an estimated cost means ???
Furthermore he states he had two bed lift bases he could have sent (one is $500.00 less than the other) Naturally he sent the higher priced bed base. Today the sales person told us that we could have selected the lower priced one, however, as I said, he never told us there were two to choose from. (non disclosure of information) The store manager refuses to accept the bed base back on return. Saying now its ours.
Because of all the aggravation associated with purchasing this mattress we asked for some consideration to us by reducing the cost of the mattress and bed base. He then told us he would take off the $500.00 so we are only paying for the less expensive bed base. We haven't had an satisfaction during this ordeal and no consideration for our grief during this ordeal since we should be paying only for the lesser priced bed base and we should be receiving a reduction for our aggravation taken off of that!
Non disclosure of information regarding this purchase transaction is the basis for my complain. There wasn't a disclosure of the prices of the bed bases for us to make a fully informed decision or a choice of which we wanted to buy and there was never a disclosure of the gassing off from the polyurethane mattress. Finally we haven't been provided a reasonable detailed copy of the current purchase we've made, only an "estimated". We continue to get different prices when we try to sort the charges out."
