Statement of Claim
"I live in Hoschton Ga. My water and sewage is sullied by Jackson county water and sewage of Jefferson Ga. In the month of June 2016 they claim I used 12,700 gallons of water. In the month of July 2016 they claim I used 17,250 gallons of water. The month of August 2016 they claim I used 44,650 gallons of water. I live in a residential area. I have 2 adults and 1 child living in my residence. We do the normal everyday things in my house Bath, wash laundry, wash dishes. We don't even wash our own cars at home. How can a family of three use this much water? I need the BBB to help me resolve this issue. Alecia Cole 6416 hwy 124w Hoschton, Ga 30548"

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • "In 2015, Ms. Cole experienced a high bill due to a leak on the service side of the meter. The service side is private property and the responsibility of the subscriber. Ms. Cole was offered a one time leak adjustment as allowed by JCWSA policy, leaving Ms. Cole a balance of $878.13; of which $728.00 was paid.

    In 2016, Ms. Cole experienced another leak on the service side of the metered connection. Because the one-time leak adjustment had already been used for this account, this option is no longer available under JCWSA policy. The e-coder installed on the meter servicing Ms. Cole's home indicates that a leak is present. The payment history on the account indicates that monthly payments are not made causing delinquent charges and balances to accrue. If Ms. Cole would like to discuss a payment plan to make payment on the balance due to the JCWSA for the water that has gone through its meter servicing this location, a plan can be discussed and entered into providing the JCWSA policies are adhered to and honored. "
