Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On Feb. 9, 2012, I was contacted by Mr Alan Jones, Corporate Div. Mgr. of Inventory, Resort Member Services, tel # 888-417-7771 Ext. 1255, who stated he was in Scottsdale, AZ. He was calling to say he had received notification from Time Share Transfers Inc, who had received Deed and Title Transfer as well as an offer to buy my time share for $14,200. Imperial Publishing Co. handles deed recording and the only fee I would be responsible for is $298.00 for the deed recording. I was to contact Imperial Publishing and give them permission to electronically publish and record deed information to the state. Additionally, I was to make a payment by telephone via writing the word VOID on my check #212 and make it payable to Imperial Publishing Co. They in turn would would send the file to the Title Co. within 7-10 days. I was given a confirmation # of ETP02106171 and I was to call Imperial at 888-331-9944 within the hour to ascertain receipt of my check.

On Feb. 13 Mr. Jones called to say the process of filing Deed and Title was completed by Imperial and that my file had been sent to Timeshare Transfer Inc and the process would take 3-4 weeks. In the interim, I was to submit an additional $129.20 and I would be contacted on April 6 for a conference call.

To make a long story short, Imperial only had a voicemail system and at no time could I reach a live person to determine the status of my case. I have called Mr. Jones repeatedly over the next several weeks and left voice mail messages to return my call. Not hearing from him, I got suspicious and looked for Imperial Publishing in the Better Business Bureau, but to no avail. The same result was obtained when I accessed ARDA (American Resort Development Assoc.)

Finally, I looked at copies of my checks to see who endorsed them and found that check #212 for $298.00 made out to Imperial Publishoing Co was endorsed as "Electronic Publishing 888-331-9944, ac #9119825236". The second check #9999 for $129.20 bore a different acct #413209953" on the back. Both checks were transacted at Citibank NA, One Penns Way, New Castle, DE 19720-0000. Therefore, I'm of the opinion that Imperial has an account at that bank as does Electronic Publishing. The bank, therefore, would have a legitimate business address for Imperial Publishing and for Electronic Publishing.

I am convinced that this is another SCAM to commit fraud to unsuspecting timeshare owners of their hard earned money. As such, I would ask that a thorough review of this complaint be made as well as a review of these companies. Lastly, I would appreciate learning of your findings with the hope of recovering my money.

My name is J. M. Vasquez and I can be reached at msjovee@verizon.net."
