Claimant's opinion: Misled during purchase, cancel contract and take Timeshare back as promised.
We are willing to take our loss and give this back to Hilton. We are big losers in this situation. We cannot afford to continue down this path. This is very unfair. Please respond to this request.
Hilton has not lived up to they're promises. They need to use some integrity and decency and make this right by taking back this timeshare to correct this situation. I never thought Hilton would treat people in this manner. This was a bogus contract and must be corrected.
I have listened to various timeshare/ Vacation Interval plan presentations and the salespeople can be outrageous. I love to go with friends and raise questions - usually, 'Will you put it in writing that - ("it's an 'investment' that will appreciate;" "we will be happy to take it back," etc.).' If the salesperson isn't willing to put it in writing, then it's bogus, and the companies paying them large commissions should be ashamed.
Because I'm old and cynical, I accompany younger friends for my own amusement. While I did not attend this particular presentation, I have seen how much pressure is often put on more vulnerable people who don't know the right questions to ask, can't dissect a contract, and don't know how documented persuasion strategies work.
I have some friends who are quite happy with their timeshares and the mammoth and ever-escalating "maintenance fees." However, I know many more people who are desperate to offload timeshares etc. but can't.
I would like to know
1) whether Hilton Grand Vacations taped the particular presentation that the claimant attended
2) whether other complaints about the salesperson have been made
3) how often Hilton Grand Vacations management sends 'secret shoppers' to document the ways in which its product is being sold.
4) when the timeshare was bought
5) how much the buyer paid and what it's worth on the open market now
6) how much the maintenance fees were at time of purchase and what they are now
I can only recommend that Hilton Grand Vacations takes a hard look at this claim and decide whether they're vulnerable to an investigation by the FTC and the claimant's Attorney General. If I were the buyer, my next move would be to file complaints with both.

PeopleClaim is a new way to resolve disputes online without lawyers or mediators. By inviting suggestions from the public, disputing parties get ideas that can lead to settlement – and the person(s) who contributed them can win a reward.
Here's what to do: Read the case (left side of page). Then go to the bottom of the page and enter your suggestion in the space provided. Click the Solution button.
Your suggestion will be sent to both parties and will post on the claim. If the two sides agree to settle based on your suggestion, you're eligible to win. Note: Cash rewards may be split among more than one person if settlement depends on ideas from more than one contributor. If you have a claim of your own to resolve, click here.
You can submit up to three solutions / rebuttal, you would like to settle or to be voted on.
