Claimant says:
"I purchased a winch from Harbor Freight Tools and discovered that it would not work in the application that I had intended. I took the winch back in its original undamaged box, in fact I don't think the winch had ever been removed from the box. I lost the receipt, but assumed they would give me store credit as all other stores I have dealt with are glad to do.

Harbor Freight Tools informed me their policy is to not provide store credit without a receipt. This is a strange policy and one that is detrimental to both the merchant and the customer. In order to take advantage of the store credit, I would probably have to purchase something that is of higher price than the original purchase. Harbor Freight Tools would make additional sales and I would be pleased because I purchased something that I could use.

A large banner in the front of the store states "100% satisfaction guaranteed". They either need to remove their banner or keep their commitment. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide to help me obtain satisfaction with Harbor Freight Tools and get them to honor their stated guarantee."
