Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a new couch after a fire breakout in my home on 6-1-11. I also purchased a Fabic Plus 5 year Furniture Protection Plan to protect my new couch. When I moved back in I noticed one of the constrction guys had a cigaret burn. I took it up to the place I bought it thinking they would take care of this. They said we do not take care of this here, you have to go through Guardsman. I said how do I get intouch with them and he (the mgr) said you did not get a service agreement, I said no and he got me one. I contacted them and they refused to repair the covers. I went back to the store and made several atempts till I finally got them replaced not by the service agreement. 1and1/2 yrs later I was cleaning under the cushions and notice the middle cushionwas raveling not just separating , but so that you could not just sew it back, it was defective. I called Guardsman at this time the company out of business that I purchased it from, and again Guardsman refused to honer the plan. They state in the plan that if they are unable to repair and the company goes belly up they would refund the money paid for the plan. They refused and did not ant to talk to me. Iam am very upset that I purchased a service agreemet that does not cover anything, when I purchased the agreement the manager told me the couch would be guaranted against anything, and its not ."
