Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Remodeled bathroom replacing the linoleum floor on concrete with tile. Grout was cracking, pitted, discolored in some areas
and under the vanity overhang the grout was not finished and slopped on the cabinet, which had to be scraped off damaging the
finish. When turned the new shower hardware on the pipes in the wall rattled and was loose on the wall. Bathroom sink was
not attached to the countertop, drain pipes loose and leaked and the sink stopper hardware was attached underneath with black
electric tape. In the kitchen the at the top of the backsplash tile there was no grout and said the wall area on the side of the
window were to small to tile, so left one side higher than the other and then put a dark brown grout between the tan tile and
black countertop saying it was the same color of the tile. Looked like crap. After 3 no show appointments, I was aggravated
and put on facebook the next time I will check Angies List before getting a contractor and didnt mention any names. My
husband called and Greg said since your wife bashed him on Facebook we could just live with it and hung up. I reported him
to Better Business Bureau which he didn't respond back too and after the time expired got tired of living in a work zone, so i
called a local contractor on Angies OK list to look at the tile work. Was told that the grout could be drilled out in places and
looked like 6 tiles had to be replaced because they were not glued down. When contractor started working on bathroom floor
found that Greg had not removed all the prior linoleum backing paper from the concrete floor, there was moisture and the
concrete had to be scraped and all tiles removed and replaced with new. Some of the tiles did'nt have glue on them and
that Greg had used wall glue instead of floor glue and didnt need 3 days for tile floor to set up if done right.
Shower hardware was reinforced in the wall and the dark brown caulking and unfinished grout on kitchen backsplash was fixed
and the wall area around the windows was finished tiled. Requesting labor cost $799.00 and tile $69.56 expense
reimbursement. Considered filing small claim but he would probably avoid them like BBB."
