"I was took advantage of by GCRA. I messed up and told them about my my handicap. I was a DAV, that had some problems from IRAQ and they used that to get a lean on my house and also have a shade tree guy come in and do not even a half way repair job on my home."

  • I noticed in your claim that you stated the organization placed a lien on your property. Usually, for rehabilitation of the property loans like this, there is a lien placed on the property, even if there is no payment requirement (similar to a down payment assistance program). It is to protect their interest in case you sell the property or transfer ownership. However, the information that the repairs necessary were not completed is of concern. Did you use your own contractor or one of your choosing, or did you use one recommended by the organization? If you used one recommended, then the GCRA should help you try to work with the contractor to get the work done that needs to be done. Perhaps writing them a letter to notify them that per the contract for repairs, work was not completed could let them know and assist you in the process of getting the work completed.
