Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My car broke down while on a cruise with a group of friend. I had the car towed to the local ford dealership. This was Sunday. Monday I got a call and was told it will cost me for them to look at the car if the breakdown wasn't covered. At that time I thought to myself why would he even say that. The car is under warranty plus I have ford extended plus warranty for 5 years 75,000 miles. Tuesday the dealership call back and told me that the drive shaft is broken and that they wouldn't cover the car. I asked them why wouldn't ford cover the broken part. All I was told is that part doesn't break unless you abuse the car. Remind you this is a Ford Mustang GT. So I call ford customer care and talked to them. I was told they will send someone out. By this time I was told they would get back to me Monday or Tuesday the next week. I call Friday just to check up and was told a ford tech looked at the car and the part just does break unless you abuse the car. Mind you I had my girlfriend and two kids in the car when this happen. So I had the car towed back to my house. I was told it will cost me 1200 dollars to fix it and that they car do the repairs if I paid for it. So I called my Friday that works at another ford dealer ship in San Diego and was told it should of be covered and that North County ford wanted to make a commission off of the fix. I was also told the Ken Gordy ford would of fix the car but since the deal ship I took it to and was only told abuse and it was in the system no one was able to fix it now. As I requested more information all I was told abuse. I feel that because it a mustang that the word abuse is a loop hold in their warranty system. I have never raced this car. I was the car as a daily driver and show it on the weekends. The drive shaft was broken or twisted in three different places."
