Claimant says:
"We moved from Phila. To Myrtle Beach April 27th 2017. When contacted, the mover went over a check list to give us an estimated price of $4500-$5000 for our move. I asked that should come out to look at our items to be moved and they said it would not be necessary because of the check list. We signed the estimated charge contract. A few days prior to the move, they called to say that we needed to go over the list again and in doing so they re-estimated the cost to be $7000. We signed that contract and was informed by them that they had seen our realtor listing which showed each room in the house in detail. We packed most everything except 2 bed, 3 TV.s and assorted pictures. The day of the pick up the young Russian men ( who barely spoke English with the exception of one Russian) left with a small portion of the total items in 3 hours. They were to arrive the following day at 8am but did not arrive for almost 3 hours. While loading the last few items, the boss youn man presented me with a bill of $12, 350. Dollars for the move. We called our bank to extend our credit card limit and paid them. They arrived in Myrtle Beach with a partial load. Another truck arrived later and unloaded a few more boxes that had been in their warehouse in Baltimore saying the move was complete. They could not find 15 items from our load for 1 month and to this day, we are still missing some boxes. It took 1 month and 30 phone calls to them to have them look for our items in the warehouse. Those items were in many smashed boxes they brought. The remaining items are still not found in the warehouse. I suggested a fair resolution to this situation. I asked for $3000. 00 to be returned to us. Their price of $12,350.. was outrageous for a 1 bedroom and partially finished basement. I have compared other moving costs to this development from people who used the major moving companies and came from upstate NY, NJ, PA. Their costs averaged from $4000. To $5500 . Our charge was fraudulent ."
