Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I recently got a quote from this company of $393 for my iPhone 5S. I read the agreement and it stated that once the product is received, their tech analysts would look over the phone for any damages that could reduce the value of the phone, in turn reduce the amount of money I would receive for the phone. After they analyzed the product, if the quote amount changed, they would notify me of the amount they were willing to offer, and then if I agreed, the the check would be issued for that amount. Instead, I received an email on September 24th, that they had received my product and would notify me in 5-6 business days of a payment confirmation. I waited until the following Monday (first business day of the following week), to check on the status of my phone. The same day I received a check for $31 dollars from the company. Clearly, I had an issue with this, considering it was less then 8% of the original quote value. I called the company and waited an hour until I finally got to speak with a customer service representative. He goes on to tell me that his hands are tied and that they had sent me a payment that was issued to me on the 26th, two days after the first email that said 5-6 business days (the payment was issued on a Sunday, not a business day). He then went on to tell me that the time period had lapsed since I could cancel the payment, that I would only have 3 days. It had literally been 3 days and a few hours, not to mention two of those days weren't business days. After unleashing my anger and frustration out on the customer service representative, he managed to get me a whopping $49 added to the original amount to total $80 (a whopping 20% of the original quote). I forgot to mention that the phone had been in a life proof case for a year and didn't have a mark on it, but yet they claimed they had to replace all the buttons and that there were all sorts of scratches and so forth (complete bullshit I might add, I saw it and knew it was in perfect condition). Now I am stuck with 80 dollars for a perfect conditioned iPhone 5S that probably stills sells for $500 retail (didn't check the exact number, but who cares, still bullshit). I forgot to mention that all the emails that I received before the check was issued came to my normal inbox, but the check issuing email mysteriously went to my spam folder so I couldn't see it and acknowledge the issue with in their 3 day window (hmmmm could you be anymore scandalous then that?). Enough said, please god don't ever do business with these people."
