Claimant says:
"I had cataracts, I went to a eye dr. to have them removed. I had lasik surgery long time a go and I need ed to get those records from the Dr. that did it. They informed me that they destroyed all old records and started with the records on the computer. I told the eye dr. what had happened and he told me I should have the other dr. that did the that surgery to do my cataract . That was the start of the problem I had with Dr. Witlin & his office. I was informed that they had 3 kind of lens to pick from. 1, Medicare would pay for, 2, would cost me 2,00.00 and I may need glasses and Medicare did not pay for them. 3, were 2,500.00 an eye and Medical care would not pay for them. But I would not need to ware glasses. Ok , Dr. Witlin told me that he would do the best he could (as their was no records) . He said that I might need to have the eyes done over to get it wright. I asked him about the extra charge and he said not to weary about it. The insurance would pay for most of it . It would not cost me any more.
I had the to eyes done, one a week, that meant the place where he did the operation would charge me twice. then I could not see very well, so I had the third operation in which he did a piggy back on one eye to try and fix the problem. That meant the place would charge me again for the use of it's place. My eyes still were not good, so he did a lazar thing on both my eyes to get them wright. That was the forth time there. I still could not see the writing on the TV being only about 8 to 10 feet away. I told them I still was not happy with my eyes. It cost me 5,000.00 for the best lens and extra 300.00 for the surgery place. which was 900.00 and more charges every time I went to his office when I did not even see him until I complained. I paid off the hospital place but said I was not going to pay him any more money until my eyes were the way the should be. I wrote a letter to the office and told them my eyes were still were not wright and I was not paying tem any more until I was happy with my eyes. O.T. the are calling me at home and bugging me with putting it in a collection agency. Oh also the lady wrote me back an complained about my writing and spelling in my letter. Just what does that have to do with any thing."
