Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"MONEY DEBITED FROM MY ACCOUNT FOR EARLY TERMINATION AFTER THEM REASSURING ME THAT IT WOULD NOT BECAUSE MY CARD THEY HAD ON FILE WAS EXPIRED!!I CONTACTED THEM ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND NOW I HAVE A NEGATIVE BALANCE IN CHECKING ACCOUNT AND MULTIPLE OVERDRAFT CHARGES FOR MY OTHER BILLS!! TO TOP THAT OFF I ALSO RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY FOR THIS BILL WHICH I WAS OK WITH BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO SET UP AN ARRANGEMENT TO TAKE CARE OF THE BILL JUS EXPLAINED TO THEM I WAS A SINGLE PARENT OF 4 AND COULD NOT COME UP WITH ALL $628 AT ONE TIME."

Under the terms of the DIRECTV Customer Agreement, when your DIRECTV service is cancelled, all outstanding charges are billed to the method of payment we currently have on file. The Customer Agreement is available online at directv.com/agreements.

    This process is automatically completed and customers cannot opt out of this process. Agents you speak with over the phone cannot make any adjustments on this as well. This payment can be completed with an expired card if the banking information is still valid as part of the agreement with us is to keep your information up to date.

    By giving us your credit or debit card account information, you authorized us to apply this method of payment, in accordance with applicable law, to pay any and all amounts due upon cancellation. For more information see the DIRECTV Customer Agreement, Section 5 Cancellation: (e) Payment Upon cancellation. The DIRECTV Customer Agreement can be found at directv.com/agreement.
    DIRECTV is not able to distinguish between a debit card and a credit card when processing a payment. DIRECTV does not provide refunds for fees incurred for non-sufficient funds.

  • I did not agree; each time I made a payment using this card it was only given permission to be used only once!! When you pulled 628.00 from that account it was not authorized by me you took it upon yourself to debit the funds!!
