Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My vehicle was towed to Delta Auto Sales on Jan. 25, 2012. Progressive Roadside Assistance towed my car, to find out what damage was done to my vehicle after running over something. I called the owner (Thomas Eugene Bonar) on that Wednesday to see what they found out. They said they didn't have time to look at it that day but will get back to me tomorrow.
Thursday I called back and asked what they found out? They told me they ordered me a new timing belt and put it on realizing that it was the wrong one and thy had to wait till tomorrow till the RIGHT one came in. I said ok, whats wrong with my car , he said i have to put the new belt on andfind out from there and i will be able to let you know I said "alright let me know".
On the next day Friday he said my engine was blown ....about $4,000.00 to repair ....and i said my car is not worth that ill just come and have it towed to my house... he told me i have a matter of a bill of $487.00 to take care of for what he did and i told him Know i didn't authorize him to put on any parts and the belt he said was $186.00 and $299.00 was for his labor. I said sir i just wanted to know what was wrong with my car and you putr new parts in and didnt fix it. He then said im keeping the car until this is paid and i said know cause i never authorized it, Progressive never authorized it , and roadside assistance never authorized it. THOSE LAST TWO HAVE RECORDINGS OF THE CONVERSATION!!. On Monday Jan. 30, 2012 I went in to see if we can come to an agreement and he said to get of his property and dont come back without his money and I had a friend there who recorded the video of this conversation on his phone. He was also calling me names!!!!!!!!!!

I wish something would be done to take these people down.."

  • we do not work on customer cars without APPROVAL from customer FIRST. mr peterschmidt was impatient from the begining. mr peterschmidt approved the work (PARTS & LABOR) on 1/26/12, a day after his car was towed in. mr peterschmidt car is a 2000 hyundai 2.5l v6 dual overhead cam with 24valves. it has 197412 miles on it. the car has previous damage and rust. this car by factory specs needs the timing belt checked at 30,000 miles and it is recommended to be replaced at 60,000 miles . we explained to mr peterschmit that we needed to take apart the front end of his engine and put a new belt on it (factory time 3hrs)to run a compression test on it to find out the what damaged had been done(factory time 1hr). the old belt on the car had streched and jumped time with the 2 cam shafts. the belt was trash. the belt was old and cracked. this part failed and bent valves in the cylinder heads because of lack of maintence. we told mr peterschmit that the cylinders heads would need to come off and sent to the machine shop to be checked . he asked how much to fix , our estimate was between 1500.00 to 1800.00 dollars depending on what the machine shop found. he said he didnt want to fix it, we told him what he owed us for (PARTS & LABOR) with tax 299.56 for labor 4hrs--135.00 for belt--tax 31.33 TOTAL 478.93 mr peterschmit said he was going trade it off at a FORD dealer for a 1000.00 site unseen, mr peterschmit said he would be in to pay his bill sat 2/28/12. HE didnt show up . HE did come in at the begining of the week and started to argue as soon as he came in the door. didnt want to pay anything . he became more argumentative and impatient and threatened us with his lawyer and said im not paying anything. I told him to go talk to your lawyer and to pay your bill or to leave. he left 2 days later a insurance adjuster showed up to look at the car for a claim, found nothing to claim , insurance denied. mr peterschmit calls me and WANTS TO GIVE ME THE CAR. no thanks
    Saturday i get this leter from peoples claim? with some Wild EXAGGERATIONS

    1 mr peterschmit towed his car through roadside assistance to our shop .He wanted to know what was wrong with his car. NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT HITTING ANYTHING (1 EXAGGERATION )
    2 MR PETERSCHMIT is his own statement ADMITS HE APPROVED THE WORK (PARTS AND LABOR) "alright let me know" (2 EXAGGERATION)
    3 ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR HIS VERSION 4000.00 ours 1500 TO 1800.

    4 HE SAYS HE FEELS RIPPED OFF mr peterschmit WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HIS CAR, APPROVED THE WORK TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HIS CAR, HE WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH TO FIX THE HIS CAR, and now AFTER FINDING OUT THE DAMAGE ,THAT HIS POOR MAINTENCE CAUSED , COST MONEY TO FIX , OUR TIME COST MONEY , PARTS COST MONEY ?

    mr peterschmit is being silly pay your bill.
