Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My husband purchased a Dell Inspiron 3531 laptop October 2014 as a birthday present for me. The laptop never performed well. The screen continuously faded completely . I made the mistake of thinking I was doing something wrong and asked advice from friends/relatives who are talented and knowledgeable about computers. The fading continued. Finally, I took it to the PS Richard store North Haven CT where my husband purchased it. The personnel in the computer department experienced the same complete fade but said the guarantee had expired........I took it for an independent evaluation to a diagnostic company. Their personnel confirmed the problem and informed me that the warranty was valid until May 2016(information which was apparently revealed during the inspection of the Dell. I called Dell support at 800-624-9897 and was passed along to several other support personnel who all repeated the expiration date. Finally, as I was informed that yet another supervisor would speak to me, I declined, and said I would look for a product complaint agency. The following day, I received a voicemail stated that if I did not call to speak to this additional personnel, my complaint request would be closed. Is there another step i can take? (I have never been a participant in a product complaint before). Is there another step I can take? Thank you."
