"The unwillingness to help a person that is in financial trouble. My car has been valued at $6500.00 and my loan payoff is $14300.00 which means by the time I pay the loan off I will have paid double for my car. I contacted community trust to see about refinancing the loan and they would not even think about it so I am having to turn my car in and begin the walking process for their fraud and taking advantage of a senior citizen."

  • In no offense to the claimant at all. Why would you have a loan that has a pay-off of that amount when the vehicle as you stated is not worth half that amount. I can understand how you may think this is fraud, but technically, fraud is an intentional deception of another to get some sort of personal gain. The company that is the offending party recieved no profit from turning away a refinance, if you go by the books they probably lost profit by not meeting your demands. Many times, places don't meet the loan demands that you want/need because of your financial situation. As you stated, you were in financial trouble, that probably being the reason that they would not consider refinancing. My condolences to you for being in the situation that you are, I've been there and it is NOT a good place to be, especially with the country's economic situation, but I do not believe that the offending party has committed any sort of fraud, or even targeted you as a non-profit because you are a senior citizen. Probably a simple case of disagreement with company policy.
