Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I contacted Choice Warranty for an issue with my C H/A unit on 01/09/17. A tech was sent to diagnose the problem on 01/11/17. I stood next to the tech as he spoke with the Choice Warranty rep and while he explained to him that the damage to the unit is due to normal wear and tear, the fact that the unit is 22 years old and because of the design of the motor. He sent pictures over to the company. The rep asked for the estimate of the cost to repair the unit and the tech advised that it would be $1300. I was told by the tech that someone would be calling me. I later received a call to contact Choice at which time I spoke with a rep Yvette who advised me that my claim was denied based upon lack of maintenance and that she was looking at the pictures and when the tech called, he said that the issue was due to lack of maintenance. I explained to her that this was not true and that I was standing next to the tech when he called. She then changed her statement and said that she was looking at pictures and that it looked like nothing had been done to my unit for years. I explained to her that this was not true and that in fact July 2016, someone was dispatched from their company for an issue related to my air conditioning unit. She began to backpedal with her statement. I asked to speak with a Supervisor at which time I spoke with Andy. Andy offered to pay $200 dollars towards the cost of my repairs. I advised that this was not acceptable and that when I signed up for this warranty, it was under the agreement that I paid a monthly fee and when I needed a repair, I paid the service fee and they covered the additional costs. I advised that they are in breach of the agreement and are using their biased and subjective opinion while viewing pictures to deny my claim because of the cost of the repair."
