Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We signed up with century link Dec. 4th of 2011. We left on a cruise got back and had a bill of $220.59.
We were told that our service would cost $39.95 a month and no hook up charge.
It has been a mess ever since the 1st call to century link and as of July 18th the last call to century link.

We have be lied to, sent to billing collection (1 day after bill was due). No response back on matters (calls mail or e-mail).

I have made notes of every conversation and have asked the conversations to be recorded and was told no at the executive offices, I told her that my phone was on speaker phone with my husband listening because she said things then said she did not. I even have a phone message that she says she did not say. i told her she needed to start e-mailing me and she still still lied.
On the 9th of April I sent my whole pack of e-mails, notes of all of my conversations with century link and have not heard a word. On April 9th I also called to find out what my status was with them because I have not received a bill since Feb 4th. I was again told my bill was $185.45 because they had not received the modem.THEY DID NOT SEND THE REQUIRED INFO FOR ME TO SEND IT BACK WHICH I HAVE NOTED SINCE I ASK THAT MY SERVICE BE STOPPED. The person said he would send the info again. We were leaving on the 11th of April and again I was the one making sure of where I was standing with the company. I did not receive the info before we left so I ask if our mail lady would put the label on the the box that I boxed and took to her. She agreed. Om the 13the of April The mail lady called said she had received the info and just sent it on its way. Thought it was done but we are getting ready to leave again July 30th so thought as I had not heard anything again I would just check. GUESS WHAT!!! I am told that I still owed the amount of $185.45 ask what the amount was for she said the modem. I said it had been sent back she said no it has not. I ask to talk to some one else and she said she was sending me to the HOT DESK. he also told me that it was for the modem I told him of all the trouble that we have had and he was looking at the records. I would tell him about things that happened and he'd say that's not what Alesia says. I had ask if he was recording this call and he said yes. He then said the the Executive office has the last word. He also told me if the person that sent me told him that it was not paid that he was not going to look it up so when I made i got made he the looked it up and said that it was not received. Talking more and insisting that he looked more he the told me oh I see the Modem was sent back on the 9th of April.I said could of been as that was the day i called in to find out about my billing. With much more going on in the conversation I as if I could have a copy of the tape as i wanted. Of course he said no way.

If you could get a copy of the tape on July 18th from what the lady called the hot desk you would see what I have put up with.

I never have had a bill collector call me nor have I not paid my bills. I just bought a house and when I got our loan the man said I has a 100 % credit rating. I want to maintain my rating and I also am doing this for other people who just let these people walk on them. I have 7 e-mails from other people just in our park that have issues with century link and for so reason it is that the bill is always in century links favor NEVER THEIR VALUED CUSTOMERS

I can send you all my info if you want it as this is just part of century link and my problems. My Bill now is to be $76.15 But even that bill has been adjusted, it is for the person that came out to set up the service.Which we were told there was no fee. When he ask how get under the park model,WHEN HE LOOKED IN THE COMPARTMENT THAT MY HUSBAND OPENED HE FELL FLAT ON THE CEMENT ON HIS BACK THEN YELLED OH MY GOD WHAT A MESS. We live on a golf course and people on the tee all looked over to see what was going on them a couple came after the were done golfing To see what was the matter with the guy. He then ask if there was another place he could get under the park model we took him to the other side and ask him what he had to go under the park model for. He said that there was a bad wire. As he looked under that side he looked up at us he said if I go under there there will be a charge. We said don't go under there, then. He went under as we were saying it. He said it will only take 5 min.

  • July 18th talked with the hot desk (Trevor) he finilly told me that the modem was received and the modem was $109. and a balance of $75.16 was left for tec charge that I was once told she was taking it ALL off.
    July 24th sent claim to peoples claim. I THEN CALLED 800# TO CENTURY LINK ASK WHAT MY BILL WAS $185.45. Even though I was told on the 18th the modem was returned and my balance was $76.16. I was told the conversation was recorded and could not get a copy of it.
    July 27th, just got off the phone with 800#of century link and my bill is STILL $185.45 ( NO ADJUSTMENT FOR MODEM RETURN

  • Had no help from centurylink. I was told that the modem was received on April 30th NOW they say it has not been received and I have to get the tracking # from ups.
    Called ups they told me if Centurylink sent the label they are the ones that need to get the tracking #.

    Would think a company as good and honest as centurylink would know that

Apology: I was told on the phone with my husband listening that she was going to remove and we would not owe any thing after she called and ask her what my bill was after she left a message on my phone. I asked her if she had read my letter,she said she would like to review my letter when she called back she said that she was going to clear my account from How the Tech acted that there was not call for any of his actions and that she would look into the matter. I ask her what i should do and she said nothing I'm sorry for what you had to go through BUT that night I got the call from the BILLING COLLECTOR and all went down hill from there as when I called her to tell her I got the call that she had said that she was taking the amount off she then said no ILL take of 1/2 and I said yesterday you told me all she was mad and things have went down down down Aug 08, 2012 N/A

  • I understand what you are going through!! I sent back a modem and they claimed never to recieve it. Said to call ups for tracking when they should know ups doesn't have that info centurylink should.... I now in collections over it. It is simply a mess.
