Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"The company claim in the contract I had 18,000 miles or 18 months the engine went out after 9 months they said they would fix it , I didn't think to check the miles before the shop came and got it as soon as I called to ask when it will be ready, they informed me that it was over the miles but didn't let me see the odometer. I didn't think I could do that much I work 15 miles away. They said on the contract if I was dissatisfied for any reason American Arbitration would hear this case. I paid for someone to hear this. AA sent money back and said they don't have any thing to do with carhop, they claim they sold the car and now want 75,00 for the car after the sale, how do I know the miles are true when they hide it from me? They said it was a repo because I decided to stop payment because they didn't disclose mileage please help."

Respondent's Counteroffer Hide
The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • "CarHop has spoken with Ms. Jones and explained that she had driven the vehicle over 18,000 in less than one year and therefore her limited warranty had expired. She had not had the vehicle for a year yet so she did not qualify for the rewards program. CarHop nor the repair shop was unable to reach Ms. Jones. She stopped making her payments and her vehicle was repossessed. As we have explained to MS. Jones several times there is nothing more we can do for her.
    Thank You
    CarHop"
