Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was contacted to refinance my home. They said no problem. Even said what new payment and interest rate would be. New payment was supposed have stared on July 12,2012. Asked for 1500.00 dollars to do filing and so forth. Told me not to make a payment to my already loan. That meant missing May, June payment. Well here it is June and can't get hold of them at all. Will not respond to phone calls or messages. I just want my money back or someone to give me a new loan. I am a single mother and can't afford this run around."

  • As soon as possible, you should contact either the Department of Consumer Protection or the Department of Corporations, as both have procedures in place for potential predatory lending issues and overseeing of mortgage companies. Complaints can also be filed with the office of the Attorney General for the state, and any district attorney's offices for your county. They may be successful in assisting you with your claim. Also, you should reach out to your current mortgage company to try to get caught up before you miss too many months payments.
