Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On September 8 a semi rolled down a hill into the parking lot of my work place. Along with 5 other cars my car was hit and totaled. I wasn't allowed to go out and get sny information for my claim. After a week of no one calling me I got the information for Bitco from my Supervisor. I called and talked to Bob McLaughlin several times and each time he was rude to me. I feel he jerked me around all through this deal. I still owed on my car so I put them in touch with my insurance company. My insurance company said they had everything taken care of. After not hearing anytrhing frm Bob for a couple weeks I called him and he told me his first responsibility was to the Insurance company I was with. I was under the impression he would have 2 different checks cut, one for me and the other for my insurance company. I told him I had to have the check asap because the new car I bought had to have major repairs and I had no money. He told me it wasn't his fault. On November 11th I finally got a check but, it was made out to myself and the insurance company. Due to this I got several overdrafts and I wasn't able to pay for my meications I need for pain. On the 11th I called Bob but, he was out for the rest of the week. I talked to his supervisor John Smith and I also had my insurance call them so they could tell them the amount I owed on my old car. The insurance guy from my company asked for Bitco's Fax number and John wouldn't give it to him so he could send him the Documents they needed. I was very upset. John said he'd only accept an e-mail from my insurance for the pay off amount but, the guy didn't have access to e-mail . MY insurance guy called me and told me all of this and talked me through my account so I could send John the pay off amount and the official document they needed. Still John refused that he wanted one from my insurance company. Finally my insurance company sent Bitco the information and John told me the checks would be cut and sent out on Monday the 16th of November I hadn't received a check by Thursday the 19th of November so I called John again and he had Bob call me back. I had called and left a message for Bob to call me on the 18th qnd he never returned the call. So when I finally talked to Bob he said the checks didn't get sent out until the 18th of November. I didn't receive the check until Monday the 23rd! I feel I wasn't treated with respect or fairness. I was embarressed because I had to beg people for money even my place of work. I went for a month not being able to pay for my pain medication. I have Fibromyalga and it causes chronic pain all the time. It is very hard to work with the pain. I also had my cable turned off so I have a $25.00 hook-up charge. I have almost $200.00 worth of NSF charges. I almost had my electricity cutt off. I was very stressed for these 2 months and they caused me a lot of extra money due to their poor handling of my claim. I would like them to reimburst me $500.00 my expenses I feel they caused me.Sincerely Vickie Abrahamson"
