Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I called AT&T after my father was placed in a nursing home to discontinue service in March. At that time the rep refused to turn the phone off. I told him my Dad was in a nursing home and was not cognitive enough to understand that the phone needed to be turned off (he dosen't even realize where he is). They refused to turn the phone off. My brother also stated he tried to turn the phone off and they refused. I had told them the bill would get out of hand and I would refuse to pay it but they did not care. Now I have NCS collection agency calling me for an unpaid debt (my Dad's bill). It's funny I was't the responsible party when I called to disconect but they deemed me responsible to pay the bill.
I called today 7/12/12 about this travesty, they put me on hold 6 times , I spoke to 3 different people, first a woman then a man named Paul, then asupervisor named John. The first 2 reps assured me this would be resolved but after I was put on hold 3 times by the first 2 people the last person (John) said he was sorry he didn't see in his records where I requested a disconnect (I did not mention I called in March becuse I actually thought I called in Feb when my Dad was first Hospitalized. She said she saw the request in March) AT&T has become a huge money hungry monster Oligopoly. They do not care about people and should not be granted the privilege of being a utility."
