Statement of Claim
"We are building a home in Arlington Ridge in Leesburg, Fla. We were told there was a $20,000 discount when you bought the home. (See add on internet). On our price promise worksheet it shows the discount and also a $15,000 discount on all upgrades. After applying for our loan and many days of figuring cost, we came up with the total that was in our budget. When we got our upgrade sheet with the prices we noticed that they did not apply the $20,000. We could not get our deposit back if we cancelled the house (which was a different $20,000). We went to our lawyer, who also thought, this was very disceiving. I have the worksheet showing both discounts, but they say there is only one. I have had to reapply for a higher loan (which now we are over budget). I am wondering how many other people have complained about this."

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

"Mrs. White's purchase agreement with Arlington Ridge Homes, LLC, is very clear as to how any available discount on her home will be calculated. Our company followed the Purchase Agreement exactly in computing this discount. Mrs. White is choosing to misinterpret this Purchase Agreement in an attempt to obtain an additional discount that she is NOT entitled to under her Purchase Agreement. We will be happy to sit down with her and go over exactly how her discount is determined per the terms and conditions of her Purchase Agreement. We have sold dozens of homes under exactly these same terms and conditions, and no other purchasers have had an issue with their discount calculations.
