Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I bought a double oven and refrigerator for a total of $1150 with delivery on 11/16/16. I had a receipt saying that if anything wrong with appliance I would have a 60 day warranty for an exchange or repair. The refrigerator worked fine for 4 days than got warm. I called and Alan sent a guy out to fix it. There was no Freon in it. His man replaced it. It worked well for about 2 weeks then again went warm. I called Allen (owner) and he said he would send someone out. It took 3 days and by then I asked a service company to come out and assess the refrigerator. They gave me an itemized list which added up to almost $1000 to repair. The man Allen sent finally showed up after repeated phone calls by us for him to do something. I showed the man what the other repair service said was wrong. I then talked to Allen and told him I didn't want to mess with another "fixing" as he didn't do anything but Freon which leaks out and I wanted another refrigerator. This was close to Christmas and he said he would try to get me one. My brother Alan Tucker called him many as he was with me when I bought it. Alan (the owner) said he had a side by side and would send it out the next day. This was on the 22 of December. He text my brother and showed him a picture of it. Nothing has happened since then nor any calls to us even after repeated calling on our part. We have a refridge in the garage we have had to use this whole time. The warrenty is up on January 16, 2017 which is what I think Alan (the owner) is waiting for. The refridge is very heavy or we would have brought it back to his store in Santa Ana. Please help with this."

  • I am having the SAME situation with Alan and The Appliance Center. We bought a fridge from him that didn't work. He offered to replace it. That one didn't work either. They both have significant damage on the exterior - though he claimed they were not previously owned. We have asked for our money back from the start ($800) - he refused. He offered to send a technician but never did. We finally paid out of pocket for one ($65) who confirmed it cannot be fixed for less than $1k. Alan refused to believe that (even though I have documentation) and then he just stopped returning our attempts to reach him. This guy is a FRAUD. His business needs to be shut down!

    Have the freon leak fixed. If that doesn't work, get a replacement fridge. If they are unwilling, then you may have to file a small claims complaints and then seek to negotiate or go to court.
