Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I had an appointment in a town 60 miles away. My arrangement was that if there were any changes simply leave an email to that effect. I tried to check my email before I left but AOL said that the email was not in service and "try back later." Rather than stand up my appointment, I drove 60 miles each way only to find that he had cancelled the appointment and left me an email to that effect earlier this morning. Further, I can not log into my account--my password does not work and it says to call a customer representative. They told me to use a temporary password which means that i can not reset to my last password that I've had for years. My damages are 120 miles X $.70/mile=$84.00 plus reimbursement of $300 for my wasted time. When doing appraisal work, this is what I earn per hour and I was seeing an appraisal client on my appointment that didn't happen.

When I called AOL, I went as far as the retention department and had no success whatsoever. Their flippant attitude was that this was somehow MY mistake and problem, that they had nothing to do with it, and they would do nothing to reimburse me for my lost time and expenses and hassles with my password. This is totally unacceptable and I want to bring their feet to the fire and be paid for their screw up."

  • AOL? Really? Their spam filter is so crazy - filters out the stuff I want, lets through the scams - that I ditched it years ago. I will admit that I sometimes get delays in texting from Verizon, so there's no fail-safe for delivery that I'm aware of except a phone call.  I hope you do collect from AOL. Good luck.
