Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On the very early morning of Sunday, July 16, 2017, I was seated in the Amtrak NJ Transit general seating area, awaiting the boarding announcement of Morris Essex Dover train, scheduled to depart at 1:19am.  This was the final train leaving for the evening, headed for Dover.  I disembark at the Brick Church station.  In order to enter the general seating area, all passengers must present a ticket or monthly pass.  I carry a monthly pass, which is $184.  The reason I mention all of this information is that, the train was posted as "standby".  An announcement was made that train was coming in and the track information would be announced.  Right after that loudspeaker announcement, an Amtrak employee wearing an Amtrak vest came in saying, "show your ticket!  Show your ticket.  This is for Amtrak only!  He repeated this several times, and those of us waiting for the Dover train got up and walked out of the area.  Myself and another passenger attempted to question why were we, as paying passengers, instructed to get up and leave the area?  His eresponse was that "these were his instructions."  Now, keep in mind, there are two large, spacious seating areas, adjacent to each other.  One is for Amtrak customers only.  The one adjacent to it says, Amtrak NJ Transit.  In order to even sit in the area, each and every passenger must present a ticket or monthly pass to the agent seated at the front of the area.  I carry a monthly pass, the cost of which is $184.  I do not understand the management's rationale in evacuating the paying NJ Transit customers from sitting in the area, but this is unprofessional and must be dealt with."
