Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Dec. 30, 2011 was the effective date of my contract with American Fidelity Services LLC. Not until May 3, 2012 did I need to call them for service. That was when my air conditioner developed a leak in the pan within the handler part of the system, which is located over a finished room. To prevent the leak from continuing to spread across the ceiling and dripping on the carpet below, I turned off the system. This is in the 90º heat, of Florida. I called this company 9 times between 5/3/12 and 5/7/12, since they did not respond to any of my calls, nor send any service people to fix the problem. Life was quite unbearable in this heat, without A.C., but they didn't care. Finally, after 5 days, I raised such a ruckus that they put me through to someone in the head office, and I cancelled my contract ( which was paid in full for a year). I demanded a refund of my money, which they sent quite promptly, but only a pro-rated amount. Since this was the very first time to have to use this service, I don't feel that I should have this company keep any of my money. I want to prevent other people from having any dealings with this company and having similar irresponsible service issues. They are unreliable, irresponsible, incompe- tent, and unsympathetic to the needs of customers. I've spread the word among all my friends and acquaintances to warn them and all prospective customers, NOT to sign up with American Home Fidelity. The damage caused by their negligence has cost me expenses incurred from a local A.C. repairman, plus a carpenter to replace insulation, wallboard, finishing and painting."

    "Claim was filed on Friday, May 4, 2012 for leaking from AC. Plan does not cover water leaking from AC units only mechanical issues are covered.

    On Monday, Claimate was informed that a Service Provider could be sent out however they choose to cancel plan. American Fidelity honored request and issued prorated refund as cancellation policy states."
