Claimant says:
"I was purchasing an item in Sayville New York, the seller contacted American Discount Movers and had them call us to arrange pickup of the item ...
We live in Florida, when they contacted me they said they were planning to pick up the item on 7/5or 7/6... this was discussed with me on 7/1 or 2...
They faxed me over a contract which I signed, again rushed came email asked to sign electronically and send back..They billed me a deposit of $375 on my credit card.
The next day, I received a call from my work ,I was cut hours and salary, I called within 24 hours and cancelled the pickup.
I asked to have my refund placed back on my credit card. I am now being told that because it stipulated in the contract that I canceled before 7 days of pickup...I wont be refunded the deposit.
I feel this is wrong and possibly a scam..Since they rushed me so quickly with the pickup and my credit card...I feel they have taken advantage of me.
Please assist me..."

After careful consideration, and review of your signed contract it has been determined that a refund is not due to you; based upon our cancellation policy. Per your signed contract, it stipulates, *Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations of moves within the 7 days of your pick up date.

    As explained before it is in the contract: Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations of moves booked within 7 days of pick-up date. You need to read contracts all the way before you sign.

  • We cancelled within 24 hours after electronic signing. We were never explained this cancellation policy, you picked the date for TENATIVELY PICK UP...It was never fully decided the pickup was for sure under 7 daysl..
    Interesting that you picked a tenative date within the 7 day concellation, so if someone has to cancel, you keep their deposit...SEEMS LIKE SCAM TO ME.
