Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"A set of caned valuable chairs worth $4500.000 were damaged upon delivery to our home. I also purchased Replacement Value insurance for $50,000.

It will cost $1000.00 to have them repaired. Allied Van Lines sent out a repairman to fix my velvet chaise that had a grease spot and his comment made about our 10 ft ladder was that ladders always turn up missing.” When he saw the 17th century caned chairs he said it would be a $1000,00 repair. He acted like he would be in touch and repair the chairs. Instead he wrote a letter to Allied saying they were dry and brittle. He insinuated they were damaged prior to transit by Allied Van Lines. The Driver was upset upon seeing the damage. He said “you told them to be careful and they tossed heavy boxes on them.”. We submitted the form to the claims department, we notified the salesman, he turned it over to his boss and she told me to call a furniture repair place that would refute that these chairs were not damaged during delivery. They called and I told them my story but no further contact. Our moving date was in December 2017. In the meantime I have just recovered from pneumonia that completely left me bedridden these last two months and was just released from my pulmonologist 7/10/18. Our house was damaged in Baton Rouge, La. and my husband had to battle our insurance company but they are finally sending checks for the $70,000 in damage from our 50 gallon water heater in our attic that burst during unprecedented temps of 17 degrees in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Please help we were told they could not put a claim into the Eagle Insurance because of what this furniture man wrote in his report. They have not checked with our driver but said we could go through arbitration for $300.00. After our experience and $400.00 we paid for replacement costs we fill this is not the way we should go or be treated by Allied Van Lines.

I would deeply appreciate anything you can do to help get our chairs repaired. Thank you Sharon Kleamenakis Venice. Florida"
