Claimant says:
"I moved back into my home and set up my security system with ADT on 12/17/2016. Prior to service being installed and any type of agreement, I advised the tech that my plan is to get new windows installed and asked how the best way to work that out would be. The tech advised me that the wireless and having the pulse app would provide warranty that would cover me "free of charge" to come back out and replace sensors. I called ADT today to have a window vibrator sensor deactivated and the rep told me that it wasn't covered and i'd have to pay a fee. I asked him what is covered and he said only wear and tear. At that moment I mentioned the tech that installed my service told me replacing sensors would be free and the rep said that is not true. I feel like i got scammed out of my money and ADT needs to own up and keep there side of the deal. If deactivating a sensor isn't covered, i'd accept that cause that was never discussed but replacing sensors when I get new windows free of charged should be honored. If the installation tech misinformed me, that shouldn't have been at the clients expense. I could have just waited to get ADT installed AFTER i got the new windows put in."

  • Your service was sold and installed by an ADT Authorized Dealer, Defender Security. Also known as Protect Your Home. You would need to contact them at 1-800-689-9554 to dispute the service charges. ADT currently monitors your account, however Defender Security is the current service provider. Any remodeling done that requires ADT to reconnect sensors is not covered under any service plan.
