Ripped off customer vs. Pegues Used Appliances

He does not stand behind his 30 day guarentee, very hard to deal with. sales defective goods and basicly when you walk out the door with it is it you're on your own.

Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"on or about 3/8 my son and I purchased a refrigerator from him for $500. I had called and talked with him several times, ask if his ref. was repaired items, He said NO the if you repair a ref. they don't last but about 60-90 days, that most of his stock was bend and scratched stock and good used ref. in good running condition. and he gives a 30 day guarantee,
When we got the refrigerator home the person that help us unload it worked in HVAC and notice it had had a major repair, a hard start had been added to the unit.
we brought the refrigerator home and for 2 days it never froze ice. My son called and ask about bring it back and trading for another one. He said he would put it in the shop and have it repaired, would take about 2 weeks. we could not wait 2 weeks to get it repaired

He and my son had an exchange of words, and yes my son lost his temper. My son told him fine he would bring the ref back and just pitch through his window and he could have the thing.
WE borrowed a ref for the time being, and I went in person on 4/1 and tried to talk with him about getting it repaired or exchanged. Mr Pegues got very ugly with me, and said we would have to go through the court to get anything done. said he had taken out papers on my son and if he came within 100 ft of his business he would have him lock up.
I told him I was reporting him to the BBB, and left, I then took the ref to Young's Appliance and repair in Pontotoc, and got it fix. at a cost of $117.65.
I went to the city court in Tupelo, and found he had not taken out any papers on my son, and for that matter he did not even know my sons name . His receipt he gave him was a very small cash reg. receipt on NCR paper that faded so bad you could not even read it.
At that time I inquired about the cost to file charges on him to bring him to court to get my repair cost back. it was $64.00. so now it is the principal of the thing. Maybe to keep some other person from getting stuck by this guy.
All I want is my $117.65 back"
