Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Our family Christmas present, a new tv 46 inch Westinghouse, stopped working after just 4 months. Westinghouse said we will get our money back after we returned the tv
to the company. This has gone on since April. No money returned, this is now August. We have waited on parts, before we send the tv back & we took pictures of the tv before it was picked up by Fedex where Westinghouse said it was damaged. But we have pictures showing that it is not damaged before it left our house."

  • I AM VERY DISCGUSTED WITH WESTINGHOUSE! We bought a flat screen and received it around 5/12/13. The TV started having lighting issues. Then it would flicker gray and then it started not showing the screen and would be black for an hour or more and we only had sound.
    I called customer service and kept getting disconnected. I finally got a hold of someone the following day. I was told that someone would get in touch with an RMA number. They would not send me a new TV until we returned ours.
    We were told that we were going to get an LED rather than the LCD (udpgrade) probably since they know the one we have is junk.
    I had called Best Buy but they don't carry the 40" and above in our area. Besides, if it's been over 15 days, we have to deal with the manufacturer.
    I had to call yet again since no one got in touch with me with the RMA. I finally had the RMA emailed to me and then I was told that I HAD TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING to return the TV!. We live in Indiana and the TV has to be sent to Ca. It cost $70.00!!!!!
    I am SOOOOOOOOO DISGUSTED with Westinghouse. I will be telling everyone I know and see to not buy their products. They should stand behind their product and not make the consumer pay for shipping their (Westinghouses) defective product back to them!
    I also will no longer purchase items at Best Buy due to their return policy.
    I just returned the TV today 6/20/13 and they better do good on my behalf and send the replacement TV promptly. I also had to take photos of the TV before it went in the box and after it was in the box and I have them on file.
    It's a shame how they do business.
