Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We attended a "cruise line, time share type" presentation under the understanding that we were guranteed 2 free round trip tickets with a 2 night stay with the continental US. Trip must be used within 1 year of acceptance. We did not buy into the "time share" p[art of the program, but we followed their instructions to the "T", including sending in a "Refundable deposit of $50.00 / person ($100.00 total). With each of 4 separate requests (2 separate request dates per request), we received a response that no seats were available (although upon contacting them at one point, a gentleman with VIP said he didn't understand why one request wasn't honored, as there were plenty of seats available). After the last request, we were informed that the voucher had expired and they could no longer honor any further requests. We were instructed to sign the Return of Deposit form if we wanted our deposit back. After 9 weeks we finally received $80.00 of our $100.00 deposit back. Upon my call to VIP, questioning where my other $20.00 was, I was RUDELY told that I violated the contract and the $20.00 was an administrative fee. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told "No, you will get he same answer that I just gave you - read your contract"! Before I could get another word in, she hung up."

  • Unfortunately, it does seem that there are multiple complaints about this company in doing the same tactics with other customers. Because the state of Florida does take its tourism and vacation issues very seriously, the Attorney General’s office does actively investigate claims such as these. Perhaps with an investigation you can get back the rest of the money that they are claiming as part of an administrative fee, as it seems that people haven’t had much success in actually getting to book those vacations. Complaints like yours, if reports to the Attorney General’s office, can possibly help to stop issues like these from happening.
