Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Was upsold into a supposedly "free" plan with a Jetpack, which I thought was probably because we were doing so much business with them that day or they were trying to give these things away. I was told it was free and there was no fees whatsoever (one-time or otherwise) and double, triple checked that it was indeed free in EVERY way he claimed and he assured me it was, even checking with his manager for me, because I wanted to be sure. I had a witness there as well, and frankly I didn't even need or want the Jetpack (we don't have a need for it) but SINCE IT WAS FREE decided it may be good to take with us on trips or for emergencies. Well by the time we finally got our first bill (one month later) we saw we were on a monthly plan for it! We called immediately to see why we were being charged and they said we signed up for the monthly plan and we were LIVID. I asked them to take it off my account immediately and we would return the jetpack, we did NOT want it, and they said we only had 2 weeks to cancel from date of activation (and of course we only found out after we got our first bill which was one MONTH after) so it was too late. To cancel we had to pay an early termination fee and this was all for this item we still had sitting in its box unused in the back of a drawer, that we never even wanted! I would like a refund for the amount we are still owed, $120, and I have no problems pursuing this to the highest ranks possible if need be. Meanwhile I will leave my reviews on every public review site possible to warn others of these slimy practices. This store has reviews on Yelp of other similar experiences and I wish I had seen them earlier. They are ruining your good name!"
