Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My grandson has a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. He had it charging and when he went to check it he found that it had burnt the charger up and the phone was hot when he picked it ip that he dropped it. when he took it in to Verizon they wanted to charge him $100 to exchange it also because it was damaged from him dropping it the warranty wasn't any good. I have found that they are having the same problem with this phone as the other phone that is causing fires.
I'm worried about him using this phone that it may cause a fire and burn the house down.
Can you help me with this?"

  • Jan 07, 2017, Claiming party added:

  • Because my grandson didn't get a 3rd degree burn the law suits that are out there don't apply to us. We had to buy another phone, but still having to pay for this one. I feel we were ripped off. I didn't buy the phone from Verizon. The one that gets too hot is turned off but as I said we are still having to pay for it. We are too scared to even try to turn it on much less try to charge it.
  • Question: by Claimant On: 01-18-2017
  • Why are they not willing to replace his phone? They know this phone has this problem. I called Samsung about this problem before I called Verizon. They wanted him to send the phone to them. He would have to go without a phone for weeks until they got it fixed or what ever they decided to do about it. That is if there was no damage to it when he dropped it. Well he wouldn't have dropped it if the phone had not burn the wires to the charger and was so hot he dropped it on concrete.

  • Some additional information for the claimaint regarding the issue with the Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone device.

Law suits have begun taking place against Samsung for the exact same cell phone device referenced in this claim and over the same issues reported in this claim. See the following link:

    https://www.sammobile.com/2016/09/11/samsung-sued-over-exploding-galaxy-s7-edge/

There is also currently a class action law suit that has been filed against Samsung for problems with their Galaxy smart phones just as the claimaint has reported taking place with his/her Samsung Galaxy device. The claimaint reported that the cell phone device had been charging and when his/her grandchild picked up the device, it was so hot that it caused their grandchild to drop it. If his/her grandchild experienced any kind of burns whatsoever when the incident occurred, then the claimaint could be included in the class action law suit. See the following link for information:

If the claimaint and/or their grandchild experienced any kind of burns when the incident occurred or at any time while in possession of the cell phone device in question, please contact the law firm handling the class action lawsuit. • Did the incident with the phone take place within 30 days of purchasing? If not, how long after the phone was purchased did the incident occur? Did you elect to have insurance protection with the phone when it was purchased?
