Claimant says:
"My home caught fire 2/21/13 Darryl Thomas agreed to make restorations to my home at 6359 Lena Ave. Jennings MO with the money allotted to me from my insurance company. The check was to be distributed in three parts. Mr. Thomas led me to believe that he had run into some problems which the insurance adjuster had overlooked and more money would be needed. He told me he had been trying to contact my insurance adjuster with no success. So in my desperation to get back into my home before my living expenses ran out from the insurance company I put up $15,000.00 of my own money to keep making progress. So with the 1st check from the insurance company in the amt. of $16,560.87 along with my $15,000.00 Mr. Thomas still has not mad any progress since being hired in April of this year. He has mishandled my funds for my home, left me and my family displaced. Nor has he been able to produce receipt for materials he says he bought or show the materials worth the costs he says. I have had to move from my relocated home, move my furniture into a storage, hire movers rent a truck. My home has been burglarized twice the 1st time I do not hold him responsible when my central air unit and things in my home were taken but the 2nd time my home was under his care and was not properly secured and I noticed last week my 3 year old water heater was stolen along with some of my pipes he put in. Darryl Thomas has been very unprofessional in his services and I feel as though he preyed upon me and has done this to someone else. I am very disappointed because I met him in church and feel I was very gullible in believing he was a trustworthy character. He needs to be stopped and I pray my complaint will be the beginning to his ending this wicked behavior."
