Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I went in to just look at animals and noticed a kitten in a small cage with 5 other kittens on the floor. The kitten was not as active as the rest and the other seemed to be crawling all over it, being in such a small cage. I picked the kitten up and held it through the store and left it that day. I went back the next day, Friday, with the permission of my mom I was going to purchase the kitten.
When I got there the kitten was not in the same cage so I asked about the kitten and the owner said that she had put it in the back so it could eat because the other kittens were not letting it eat. I asked if I could still purchase it and she said sure. She gave me kitten milk for free because she was little and still a kitten, then I paid 60 dollars for her. I took the kitten home and held it most of the afternoon and prepared it a place to sleep with plenty of food and I fed it the milk I was given . The next day, Saturday, I left with my family to do errands and was gone most of the afternoon. When I came home the kitten had died in the bed I made fro her. I had to wait until Monday to talk to the pet store, but first thing when they opened I was there. I asked for a refund because I did not want another kitten from the store, and the lady behind the counter had to call the owner. The owner said she was on her way and that we could pick another kitten, so we waited because we did not want another kitten in fear that they were all sick. The owner arrived and the lady behind the counter ran out to talk to her, then the owner came in very angry and yelling at me and my mom and told my mom to get out of her store because of her comment that was made about not buying from that store. My mom hadn't even said anything to her until then and they started arguing. The lady was so rude and being calling my mom names and was yelling the whole time. We finally left after being thrown out. I was heart broke because the poor little kitten was in the car, and I had to bury it now. I had spent a week of baby sitting money on her and that lady was so angry at me."
