On/about July 7th, 2014, my wife and I had decided to relocate from Long Beach, CA. to Louisville, KY.
We had required the services of Swift Express Moving & Storage, Inc. - 8519 Reseda Blvd. Northridge"

  • The response by Swift Express Moving & Storage is incorrect. My wife and I arrived in Louisville, Ky. on August 25th and immediately found an apartment . I notified the Swift Express moving Co. dispatcher and provided her/him with the address on 8-28-2014. I specifically indicated that my belongings were to be delivered no later than 9-18-2014 due to the 30 day free storage provided by them. I was unaware of a 21 day delivery date from the time I provided my new address. However, I have since read the part of the contract that mentions the magical 21 day delivery period. You would have to have a law degree to understand all that jibberish. In any event, even if 21 days is binding, Swift Express has exceeded that period by at least 8 or 9 days. Please note, as stated above, I gave the dispatcher my new address on 8-28-2014, in the hopes of receiving my belongings no later than 9-18-2014. I have to assume, the dispatcher merely fluffed it off as another complaint by a customer and simply neglected to note it.
    Computing all the dates I have mentioned and include the current promise of 2 or 3 days for delivery and the total comes out to approximately 35 days of excuses. Well beyond the proposed 21 day delivery date.
    My monetary claim stands and I will almost certainly seek advice from a reputable attorney if this is not met. I'm sure there are many attorneys waiting and willing to take on my case, some who will more than likely place an much higher figure on this case, than my original claim. My wife and I have suffered enough pain and agony no two elderly humans should have to endure at this late stage of our lives, simply because of incompetence from a moving company. They have had our belongings for well over two months, we have had to sleep on an air mattress and use primitive ways of surviving without the normal modern living conditions and requirements. It has caused both my wife and I mental and physical suffering.
    On several occasions during this delay period I have continually asked for a delivery date , and have been given ridiculous stories for their delays, including a short vacation for the truck driver, weather conditions and a Jewish religious holiday for some of their employees, not to mention constant excuses by several dispatchers, both male and female who would simply suggest they would have their supervisor call me . This, of course, was another excuse in that the supervisor never once attempted to call me. The excuse for the weather conditions alone are ridiculous, since the weather throughout the country has been exceptional and perfect.
    I will wait for a reply.

  • On 10-2-2014, I again contacted Swift Express Moving & Storage, Inc to inquire the estimated time of delivery and was told our belongings were in Denver, Colorado, and not to be expected until, at the earliest, October 6th, 2014.
    I am sure I will require legal assistance in solving this situation. My wife is at a breaking point and she will probably require medical assistance for her health due to this irresponsible and unnecessary occurrence.
    If no response by Swift Express is issued prior to the expected delivery on 10-6-2014, I will certainly provide all the necessary communication I have accumulated and recoded since hiring Swift Express to ship our belongings from Long Beach, Ca; to Louisville, Ky.

    As an added insult, the driver for Swift Express insinuated he would not be able to manipulate his truck in a way that would make his delivery of my belongings possible. As such, he would have to use a smaller truck at an additional cost of $350. I can see no reason for his excuse since my apartment is facing a large parking area in which both an entrance and exit is available for any size vehicle. Perhaps a more experienced driver would be in order.
