Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My daughter, Jessica Johnson and I Phyllis Mason-Johnson attended the City of Chicago, South Chicago Auction in Harvey on January 4, 2012. We purchased a Gray 2008 4 door Chevy Impala with a down payment of $2,000.00 leaving a balance of $4,094.00. We checked the vechicle and there were no damage to the body. We when to pick the vehicle up and paid the remaining balance on January 18, 2012 and find damages to the tale lights and the side view mirror on the passager side and we returned the vechicle to auction after going through a waiting period with the auction on January 31, 2012. We were told by Al the owner that in order to return the vechicle we had to trade out for $300.00. Then we purchased 2004 Kia Sorento and by the time we got to 119th on the express way the vechicle stopped and I had to have it towed home. I purchased a radiator, two sensors and a battery for this vechicle that still didn't work. I then took it to Kia Company to find out that I needed a motor. Now I've lost alot of money trying to make repairs. It's an unfair practice of the City of Chicago, South Harvey Auction to sale vechicles as is without giving the buyer at least an five day warranty on the sale."
