  • A lot of times, when dealing with government entities or agencies, there is a designated administrative process for handling of complaints. Here, it seems that the department has a designated ombudsperson for handling of complaints. According to the website for the department, they must handle any complaints submitted to the office of the ombudsperson within 30 days. Perhaps starting with that administrative option can help get your some resolution for your situation. Also, if you have court orders determining custody, filing a motion with the court is an option if you feel that the department is not handling your case correctly. There is a pamphlet available on that website for the Complaint Resolution and State Hearing Program through this department that can help guide you through the complaint process and let you know what your options are.
