Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Bought a 2013 Sonic & the paper describing the car features said it came with a CD player but it didn't. I met with General Manager & he said that I was 100% right but they couldn't install one & it couldn't be done. Prior to this I was in contact with a REP. from GM; & he (BRANDON) was trying to resolve this with me. Any way I was 2 payments toward or $ 500.00 check I refused because I had found a business in Scarbough,Me that could install one for $695.00. Meanwhile 2 days later I contacted Brandon & decided to accept the $500.00 but because I mention the BBB the regional manager told Brandon that I would not get the $500.00 & Brandon agreed with the regional manager. I contacted the BBB & got a letter from them that unfortunately Quirk Chevrolet decided not to respond to my complaint #9636316. On the letter the BBB gave me your agency that u might further assist me with my complaint."

  • I didn't expect them to resolve this issue; but there is one more step that I wll take . When this all began I asked (Brandon GM REP) who was going to pay to put a C/D player in my wife's car & he said QUIRK CHEVROLET WILL and we will pay the balance. When it came the $195.00 extra ; he told me that he was sorry that GM would' pay the rest. (Chevrolet Costomer Assistance) 1-800-222-1020) THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING MY WIFE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   • I received a letter from the BBB that Quirk Chevrolet responed on the Complaint # 9636316 to the BBB on 9/13/13. I received the letter from the BBB 0n 9/16/2013. Here is what the letter states from Quirk Chevrolet to the BBB.

    MESSAGE FROM THE BUSINESS:

    The winow sticker, Moroney Label, supplied by General Motors for the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic did list a CD player as standard equipment but this item was deleted when the Chevrolet MyLink system was ordered as an option. Mr. Perreault did not pay for a CD player. After many conversations with Mr. Perreault General Motors made him a reasonble settlement offer to try to satisfy his concerns. Mr. Perreault refused the offer. At that time it was taken off the table. After an extended peroid of time Mr. Perreault called to accept the offer.     SHAME, SHAME ON YOU.
    Let's get the facts straight 1st Your response to BBB ( that' what is called an extended peroid of time).2ND Who ordered the car with a My Link system as an option which deleted the CD system. The window sticker said it came with a CD player.( THAT IS WHAT MY WIFE AND I WENT BY WHICH WE BOTH READ) The salesman FAILED to mention that it didn't come with a CD player if he had told us we wouldn't have bought the car. No we didn't pay for a CD player; but we paid for a MyLink system A CD player can be installed with a cover plate for $695.00. I was told by the GENERAL MANAGER at Quirk Cheverlot that it couldn't be done.WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!!!! 3RD GENERAL MOTORS DID NOT MAKE ME ANY OFFERS (BRANDON GM REP) WAS A MIDDLE MAN) between myself and QUIRK CHEVROLET Getting to the $500.00 offer. I spoke 3 times to the people working for Quirk. The general Manager which I spoke in person with and I had 2 telephone conversations with the service manager and BRANDON GM REP more times that have fingers on both of my hands First I was offered by the service manager 2 car payments!!!. I REFUSED
    (2ND OFFER) Through BRANDON GM REP) He said Hayden you won't like this; they offered $500.00. Why should I pay an extra $195.00. Again I refused. This offer was on a Thursday that week. My wife and I talked it over that weekend and she said settle it and we'll pay the $195.00 difference. I called Monday; couldn'get Brandon got a women on the line and told me she would look at my file. She told me over the phone that it wasn't too late to accept the offer.and she would tell Brandon that I would accept the $500.00 offer.(WOULD U CONSIDER FROM THURSDAY TO MONDAY (4 days) AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME TO RECONSIDER THE OFFER) I would consider an EXTENDED PERIOD of time WEEKS & WEEKS before QUIRK responded to my complaint to the BBB on 9/13/2013. I called (BRANDON GM REP MIDDLEMAN) at the end of the week and he told me because I THREATEN TO CALL THE BBB TO PURSUE THIS; THAT THERE WOULD BE NO MONEY!!!! I asked WHY. Well BRANDON told me because I mention the BBB the regional manager for QUIRK CHEVROLET said there would be no $500.00. THREAT THREAT THREAT!!!!!!(BIG WORD COMING FROM THE BIG GUNS) IT WAS TAKEN OFF THE TABLE BECAUSE I MENTION BBB.BBB. BBB (BETTER BUISINESS BUREAU) THREAT VS MENTION THREAT VS MENTION BBB

  • My response to U Mr.Timothy Readon of Quirk Chevrolet is the deal is off the table by your standards (CAUSED BY AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME 4 DAYS) now what I called an extended period of time by which U finally contacted the BBB of my complaint #9636316 against Quirk Chevrolet which was filed on (7/25/2013) NOW!!!!! On 8/23/2013 I received a letter from the BBB that they closed my complaint #9636316 as NO RESPONSE FROM THE BUSINESS. I received a notification on 9/13/2013 from the BBB .Now I will try to put this in perseptive!!!!!!!!From the time the complaint was filed with the BBB & the time that U acknowledge to the complaint to the BBB is exactly (37) BUSINESS DAYS. I REPEAT (37) BUSINESS DAYS NOT COUNTING SAT.OR SUNDAY. Now THAT Mr READON IS WHAT I CALL AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME FROM QUIRK CHEVROLET OF PORTLAND, ME.TO NOTOFY THE BBB. Now 4 DAYS LAPSE BEFORE I CONTACTED GM TO ACCEPT THE OFFER AND U CALLED THAT AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. BEFORE I RECEIVED YOUR FEEDBACK AFTER U CONTACTED THE BBB.THE BBB THEY OFFERED ON THEIR LETTER ALSO TO PLEASE VISIT (boston.bbb.org/consumers to review this informaton & I did. NOW!!!!!! (PEOPLES CLAIM) ON AUGUST 30/2013 I filed a claim against QUIRK CHEVROLET MR.READON #4861987-32532. THIS COMPLAINT WAS SENT BY E-MAIL AND DELIVERED MY MAIL MR.READON. (BUT,BUT QUIRK CHEVROLET HAS STILL NOT RESPONDED TO MY COMPLAINT BY THIS ORGANIZATION THAT IS TRYING TO HELP ME RESOVLE THIS ISSUE MR.READON.
    NOW LET ME REPEAT THIS AGAIN!!!!! BRANDON GM REP) TOLD ME HIMSELF ON THE PHONE THAT THE $500.00 WAS TAKEN OFF THE TABLE BECAUSE I THREATEN TO GO TO THE BBB AND THIS WAS SAID BY THE REGIONAL MANAGER FOR QUIRK CHEVROLET OF PORTLAND, ME. (WHO IS LYING QUIRK CHEVROLET OR BRANDON GM REP) I AM NOT A ENGLISH MAJOR BUT I DO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MENTIONING SOMETHING VERSUS A THREAT. I DID NOT TREATEN ANYBODY I JUST MENTION.MY LAST STATEMENT TO YOU MR. READON IS THAT I WILL PURSUE MY COMPLAINT AGAINST QUIRK CHEVEROLET.
