Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I hired them to do a septic tank inspection at a property I am buying . The owner did the inspection gave me a report that had a couple of repairs the system needed to be fixed. I called another company to do those fixes as the inspection company QSD does not do that. The company I called sent out their work crew, fixed what QSD suggested but then found the septic tank its self has a large crack in it that should have been seen by the inspection company QSD. Now I have to replace the tank at my expense instead of having the home seller fix the problem before purchase."

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:

    "This is our response regarding the ‘PeopleClaim’ you submitted and I received on Dec.23rd, claim #8683983-256618.
    We reject this claim as we did nothing wrong. The report picture shows the area in question and clearly shows no crack. This was taken at the time of the Evaluation on Sept. 14, 2017. There was no effluent leak from the tank as the level of effluent was at the bottom of the outlet pipe, exactly where it should be for a normal working tank. If there was a crack present after work was done by the hired repair people, it was most likely caused during said work. The most common replacement baffle includes a tapered insert that is inserted into the outlet pipe and pressed and hammered into the outlet pipe. This process may have caused the problem.

    I discussed this matter with Lisa Deming and explained the fact that with the effluent at the proper level, the effluent was not leaking from the tank and causing any unsanitary situation. I told her that the crack could be patched with hydraulic cement. The existing tank could function without any detrimental issues for years in its current state.
