Statement of Claim

Claimant says:
"This painting contractor began painting our home without authorization while we were away on vacation. I was called by my HOA and informed of the mistake. My home did not need to be painted.

After talking with the contractor we agreed to allow him to finish the job so that he did not lose the expense of the paint. He claimed to give me a deal on labor but that was not really important to us.

When I returned I paid the contractor in full as he was in a hurry to get paid. Subsequently we discovered that the paint job was not finished. I called the contractors answering service and the call was returned in 2 days. I then spoke to the contractor directly and was told the job would be finished a week for the day we spoke.

Today is the day when this was to be completed. I call the contractor today and he acted like he did not know who I was and what house it is. Presently he hung up on me. It is obvious he has no intention of finishing the job.

I am now left with a house that has a unfinished paint job and an evasive contractor. I will now have to find another painter at my expense to finish the job."
