Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Had a problem with a corrupted file on our HP computer. On-site sent a technician who said he on needed to re-download windows 10. After an hour he said he could leave and when it finished downloading it would be ok. Charged us $90.00, as we were a "member" and left. When it finished it was the same as before he came. There are also other problems I can give more detail to later."

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:

    "I had Gary Allen scheduled for a NO CHARGE follow up appointment and when our technician arrived at their door he was turned away. Gary Allen never called to cancel the NO CHARGE follow up to resolve the failed update issue. The technician explained that rather then charge you for us to stay and watch updates complete, most often they complete without issue but if it fails to call for a follow up visit.

    Gary Allen was on the phone with HP technical support when my technician arrived and my technician was turned away at Gary Allen's door. I spoke with Gary later that afternoon and was still on the phone with HP and the issue was still not resolved hours later. I explained that if we had to dispatch a technician again, that it would be billable. I paid my technician mileage and a 1 hour minimum for payroll to help this client at NO CHARGE. If he had called to cancel the appointment prior to the technician arriving, I would have still sent him at NO CHARGE for a follow up if needed. No refund is do to this customer.

    As far as the previous technician overcharging you to set up this computer and transfer data from an older non working computer back in September 2015, that is NOT the case. The technician was there 4.25 hours and only charged you for 3 of those hours and over 1/3 of the bill was for a Clickfree back up drive. By no means were you over charged. When you told Stephen how much you paid for the set up and data transfer, he stated it is usually half that amount. He did not know that a back up drive was sold and assumed no issues with the data recovery which there were.
