Claimant says:
"This company failed to do gutter and other repair work for my 89 y/o elderly mother. Shannon O'Grady the owner stated he would do this work for my elderly mother. He came over on 11/15/13 to assess the repair and stated it would cost $2400.00 and that he needed $1200.00 up front to get materials etc. He was given a check for $1200.00 by my mother on 11/18/13. Shannon O'Grady signed a contrat and stated he would bring materials over on 11/22 and start work on 11/23. My mother gave this money to him in good faith. He never came over to bring eqipment or to start the work the following day. I had to call him and he then told my mother and myself he had another job to do and he would be over Monday 11/25. This did not occur again and I agin had to call him about this matter. He gave excusess and said he would be over in a couple of days. This never occured and he made many excuses over the next couple of weeks and no work was ever done. He finally came over and he did bring some small amount of materials but did so un-announced. He tyhen stated he would get to the job soon. My mother cancelled the job and asked for Shannon to return the $1200.00. He was reluctant at first but agreed to come over in the next 2 days to do this. This never occurred and he contytinued to make excuses. During this whole process he only called my mother once and myself twice. I made many calls to him and left many messages about the work at first and then the money to be returned. He did come over again un-announced and attmepted to get into to the garage without calling or asking permission. He was givne the materials back and he did not give my mother elderly mother back her money . He gave excuses and then he became angry and upset in our dirveway and he acted unprofessional using profanity and caling us "crazy people". He yelled out stating he "should have never sgned a F---ing contract with crazy people". This business needs to return my motherws money immediately and Shan non needs to formally apologize for his behaviors. I feel his business needs to be investigated as well as get a black mark aganst them. He took advantage of my 89 y/o elderly mother. I am alos worried that he will take advantage of others especailly the elderly."

  • This Perosn Shannon O'Grady owner of O'Grady Roofing Services had moved to another address. He lives a 5 Gilbert Road, Whitesboro, N.Y 13492.
    I have involved the Attorney General of Utica N.Y.
    I have involved the BBB of N.Y.
    Shannon O'Grady was taken to Samll Claims Court and has a $1220.00 judgment against him as of April 7th, 2014, He was givne 30 days to pay and he failed to do this. He told the Judge he would pay the amounbt in 30 days.
    I have the City Marshal involved and Shannon O'Gardy told the city Marshal he would pay in 3 payments and failed to do this.
    He has lied to everyone and stole $1200.00 dollars from my 89 elderly mother.
    This person should not be allowed to have a business and he is unprofessional, unethical and has no integrity what so ever. He has made my elderly mother a nervous wreck for the past 6 months. I feel this matter needs to be brought out in public in every know media possible so others do not get taken advantage of, especially the elderly.

  • I feel for you. Shannon has learned from his father Larry. Although Larry made the contract, Shannon was on my property as well. They work together. I have had thousands stolen from me and my lawyer said, save the rest of your money for food and bills, don't bother going to court. They are trained criminals in how to evade being forced to repay. Your never going to get your money back. I have been upset for years because they caused me financial distress and ruined my credit because I had to hire someone else to finish the job. Is this my fault for not researching, I guess I didn't think I had too. This is the first time I had ever hired anyone to do work for me. People always said, hire locally, support our local small business's. Keep our small business's alive and close. Yeah, I learned my lesson. I do a lot of research now, and I will not pay anyone until it is done, and I hire big name companies now if I need help. I am still suffering while they enjoy their high life, but there is nothing I can do. Good luck to you.
