Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Mike Lowe / LoweExposures promised a FINISHED product we’ve had to spend a small fortune trying to salvage footage from this video shoot. The owner was given MONTHS to resolve the problem and deliver the agreed upon product but he made many excuses. His editor quit because the video files were such a mess! We’ve lost tens of thousands of dollars due to his neglect, incompetence and delays. We may never have a usable product even after spend a FORTUNE trying to salvage something. He is a note from another video editor who is still trying to cleaning up the MESS left by LoweExposures:

While the Sony camera provided footage as .MTS files, the camera operator frequently failed to remain centered on or track the speaker. Several times, Jason would literally walk entirely out of the frame before the camera would follow and re-center the frame. Fortunately, I could use cutaways to the 5D camera in those moments leaving the trouble spots on the cutting room floor, but it did reduce the amount of usable footage available to the editor.

The .mov files created by the 5D camera were super small. There were 83 .mov files created just for Day 1 alone, which created additional work for the editors who would have to locate, and re-synchronize each clip to the source audio (from the lavaliere microphone) before cutaways to the 5D footage could be utilized. This time consuming problem was present and persistent throughout the entire project since 234 unedited and unsynchronized video files were provided in total.

The image quality of the GoPro footage provided was not crisp which is strange because the 45 Mbit/s data rate should have been more than adequate to provide a crisp and clear image. Because of this diminished image quality, the GoPro footage could only be used for an occasional cutaways and could not be relied upon as a consistent source of usable footage for more comprehensive integration into the final edit.

The interviews for the client testimonials also produced problematic footage in that the interviews were often conducted in close proximity to large groups of people with a great deal of background noise. Other interviews were conducted near an idling bus engine which diminished the quality and usability of the audio for those interviews. While some noise reduction could be applied in post production, several of the interviews have so much ambient background noise that their usability is again limited.
