Claimant says:
"I spoke with a man very early in the morning about a Rachel Ray magazine that I have always purchased. We talked about a price to renew it for 12 months 39.95. He recorded my voice stating my name and agreeing to the 39.95, there is no conversation recorded before that to allow you to know what I am agreeing on. After that conversation I started receiving 8 different magazines a month and nothing that would be of interest to me, parenting, family, ESPN, shape, Ect... It took me a few months to located this payment coming out of my account since it was labeled Midwest house of crystal on my statement! When I found their number I spoke to a Sheika who was very nasty and unhelpful to me. I told her I was under the wrong impression of what I was singing up for she said I agreed to an 18 month contract for $850.00 for a magazine package!!! She had told me the only way to cancel contract was to pay $500. I have since stopped my debit card and now all payments are going into collections. I do not want this to affect my credit, and do not know what to do from here. I would have never signed up for a package that I would not use or could not afford! Sovereign bank said they have had several complaints on this company. She now calls everyday looking for me to pay her, please help!"
